BOMBERS FOR ARMY AUTHORITY SOUGHT (Reed. Dec. 118, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 16. The Washington correspondent of the New York Times.states that the army is seeking a grant of £1,000,000 to build five bombers twice the size of the "Flying Fortresses.” It is understood that they will weigh 70,0001 b. unloaded, compared with 38,0001 b., which is the weight of the "fortresses.” There are to be four motors, each of 2000 horse-power, with a flying range of 5600 miles unloaded.
