MILITARY COMMANDER

An announcement that a civic reception. would be given upon his arrival in Auckland to Major-General B. C. Freyberg, V.C., who will be in command of the New Zealand military forces overseas, was made by the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, at a meeting of the Auckland City Council. Sir Ernest said the function would give Major-General Freyberg an opportunity of meeting civic authorities, in addition to military officers of the district.
