CATTLE IN DEMAND MORRINSVILLE SALE At the Morrinsville stock sale on Tuesday a medium yarding of sheep came forward, and a total clearance was effected at late ruling values. There was a full yarding of fat and boner cows comprising a good many pens of prime ox and cow beef. Competition was keen and prices were easily on a par with recent sales. A full yarding of store cattle, with several pens of grown steers, sold freely, but competition for younger cattle was erratic. Female cattle were more steady in value and late rates were maintained. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report the following range of prices:— Cattle.—Light fat steers, £8 13s to £9 9s; heavy Friesian and Jersey cows, £6 12s to £7; medium Jersey cows, £5 7s to £6 ss; lighter, £4 15s to £5; medium fat Jersey heifers, £6 12s to £7 11s; light, £4 5s to £5 16s; three and four-year Polled Angus steers, £8 5s to £9 ss; four-year Shorthorn steers, £9; three-year Shorthorn steers, £6 to £6 10s; 2+ year Polled Angus steers, £5 6s to £6; three-year mixed coloured steers, £3 12s to £6; two-year Friesian steers, £3 12s 6d; yearling Hereford steers, to £2 10s; two-year Polled Angus and Hereford heifers, £3 16s to £4 2s; smaller, £3; two-year Shorthorn and Hereford steers, £4 Is. Sheep.—Fat woolly hoggets, 25s 2d to 26s 7d; shorn light fat hoggets, 17s to 18s; light fat wethers, 17s 5d to 19s; fat ewes, 15s 9d to 16s; store wether lambs, 17s to 17s 6d; store ewe lambs, to 16s lid.
