RISE IN BRITAIN TREND DURING. WAR (British Official Wireless ) Reed. 1 p.m. .RUGBY, Dec. 15. The cost of living index at December 1 was 73 per cent above the level of July, 1514, against CD per cent in November. For food alone the index shows a rise of about 2 per cent in retail prices during the third month of the war. Since the outbreak of the war the total rise in the cost of living, according to the Ministry of Labour, has been rather less than 12 per cent.
