BOOTS FOR ARMY
AUSTRALIAN CONTRACT CONSIDERABLE SAVING (Reed. Dec. 16, 1.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 16. Boot manufacturers at a conference agreed to supply the Government with 200.000 pairs of boots for the defence forces at the price stipulated by the Minister, Sir Frederick Stewart. Sir Frederick Stewart said that there would be a saving of 2s 11-Id a pair or. the original price the manufacturers quoted, allowing for the increase m leather prices and the improved design.
