ILLEGAL LIQUOR SALE

GOLF CLUB INCIDENT Arising out of a recent raid on the Nor.hern Wairoa Golf Club’s pavilion. Alan W. Bird and Lawrence Peter Hacketl entered pleas of guilty in the Dargaville Magistrate’s Court to charges of soiling liquor without a license. Both men were convicted, but the question of penally was adjourned bv the Magistrate Mr. R. Ferner, until January lit. when a similar charge against another person will be heard. Inspector J. Fox described how a young constable from Auckland attended a farewell function in the evening for a member of the club. A bar had been erected in the pavilion and the two defendants were engaged in selling drinks.
