Last Night’s Forecast General inference: The cyclone responsible for the recent b s nd weather has moved well away to the east and pressure has been rising' steadily over the North Island, Forecast: Fresh but decreasing south-westerlies over the Auckland province; elsewhere slight to moderate and variable, but with northerly directions predominating. Seas: In New Zealand waters, rather rough but decreasing north of Kawhia; elsewhere slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Decreasing southerly winds in the northern portion and light, lull, freshening northerly winds in the southern portion; seas, slight to moderate. Weather: Some scattered morning fogs or light drizzle possible, but otherwise lair to fine, with rising temperatures.
To-day’s North Island Report
Overcast conditions were reported from most places in the North Island this morning, when slight south-east-erly to northerly winds prevailed. The barometer continued its rising tendency. Temperatures at 9 a.m. to-day were:—Auckland, 64 degrees; Tauranga, 75; Opotiki, 65; East Cape. 61: Gisborne. 60; Napier, 64; Wellington. 59. Seas were slight to moderate. v. /NS Midday Forecast General Situation: Pressure continues relatively high in the north, but a depression is . advancing on to southern New Zealand.
Forecast: North-westerly winds gradually predominating and freshening. Weather: Fine with mild to warm temperatures. Seas: Slight.
