Savage, Waimata Valley, and her sister, Miss Muriel (Barker, left to-day for Hawke’s Bay to attend the breaking-up festivities at Woodford House and Hereworth schools. • • • • Mrs. O. L. Eaton, whose husband. Dr. Eaton, of the Canton Presbyterian mission, was shot by bandits near the Kong Omen .Hospital last Easter, will return to New Zealand by the Maetsuycker, which is due at Auckland to-morrow. Mrs. Eaton was formerly Miss Mandeno, of Te Awamutu.
Miss Stella Hayward, daughter of the Hon. W. Hayward, M.L.C., Christchurch, planned to leave England for Jndia at the end of (November. A Karitane nurse, she intended going to Mirzapur with a family to take charge of the two daughters, one a baby. Mirzapur is not far from Calcutta. Miss Hayward expects to be in India for about (18 months.
