INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

GISBORNE POSITION HEADMASTER APPOINTED MR. F. R. SLEVIN Mr. F. R. Slevin, the present headmaster of the Napier Intermediate School, has been appointed by the Hawke’s Bay Education Board as headmaster at the new intermediate school to be opened in Gisborne in May next. Mr. Slevin probably will take up his new appointment in May. Mr. Slevin, who has been headmaster of the Napier Intermediate School for the past 21 years, went to Napier from Waihi, where he was stationed as headmaster of the Waihi High School, and since he has been in Napier has endeared himself to all with whom he came in contact. A popular headmaster, Mr. Slevin has always had the welfare of the children at heart, and has done sterling work in the interests of education in Hawke’s Bay. When Mr. Slevin takes up his new position in May next, he will be headmaster of the most modern intermediate school in New Zealand, a school in which all modern facilities will be provide'd, both for the comfort and education of the child.

The Hawke’s Bay Education Board’s appointment of Mr. Slevin to Gisborne has been approved by the Education Department, but no appointment has been made yet to fill the vacancy to be caused by MrSlevin’s departure
