The Poolta loads coal at Greymouth on December 18 and completes at Westport for Napier and Gisborne. The Pakura is en route from G isborne to Lyttelton. The ship loads at Lyttelton on Thursday and at Wellington on Friday and Saturday, and arrives at Gisborne next Tuesday. The Kopara leaves Auckland today for Coast bays, Gisborne and Napier. The ship js to discharge at Gisborne on Friday. The Pukeko loads at Auckland on Friday and at Portland on Monday for Gisborne and Napier, being due at this port on December 20. The Margaret W. left Auckland at 0.30 p.m. yesterday for Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay and Gisborne. The ship arrives here to-morrow and departs the same day for Auckland. At 1 a.m., Totara, for Tokomaru Bay. NEW COASTGUARD VESSEL The new 26ft. patrol boat of the Auckland division of the New Zealand Coastguard was launched in Auckland on Saturday afternoon. A representative gathering watched the launching ceremony, which was performed by the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board. Mr. W. B. Dario w. MORE U.S. SHIPS ORDERED A contract for the construction of three single-screw cargo ships of 9900 tons dw. for the Seas Shipping Company, Inc. New York (operators of the Robin Line service to South and East Africa 1, has been awarded to the Bethlehem Steel Company by the U.S. Maritime Commission. The vessels will be built at the plant at Sparrow’s Point, Md. The contract was awarded on the low bid of 2,250,000 dollars each made on an adjusted price basis for construction of three steam-propelled vessels. The three vessels will be built under the construction differential subsidy provisions, and will be approximately 485 ft. overall, with moulded beam of’litift.. depth to shelted deck 43ft.. and maximum draught loaded 37ft. They will have a sustained sea speed of 15A knots and turbine propulsion machinery of GOOD s.h.p. The Maritime Commission are also reported to have placed a contract for the construction of six more cargo motor ships, costing 2.227.000 dollars each.
