NEW TRIAL REFUSED
MP.'S LIBEL ACTION A motion for a new trial of a libel action for £IOOO brought by John Roberston, M.P., for *Masterton •gainst Garnet H. Saunders, of New Plymouth, and Henry Thompson, of Niapier, motion picture c-xhibitcfi's, .vas refused by Mr. Justice Johnson : n the Supreme Court in Wellington in Monday. The grounds for the application were that the foreman of the jury of 12 who heard the claim was guilty of misconduct and that the verdict of die jury for the defendants was against the weight of evidence.
