INCREASE ALLOWED

SCHEDULE OF PRICES ROAD FREIGHT SERVICES (Per Presß Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. An increase of 3 1-3 per cent in the transport operators’ price schedule ■was decided toy the 'No. 2 Licensing Authority, Mr. P. O. Skoglund, yesterday. Recognising that tyres, petrol and oil prices have increased by 5 per cent, Mr. Skoglund decided that twothirds of the increase should be borne by the user and one-third by the operator. Referring to the effect of the war, Mr. Skoglund said it was necessary to conserve to the utmost the Dominion’s financial resources. The business community and the primary producers could help eliminate waste by greater use of the public and private transport services already established. He suggested greater use of the railway, even if it cost a little more.
