Modern technical equipment played an important part in the field exercises and demonstrations carried out bv men of the mgineer units which returned from Waiouru to their base camp at Hopuhopu or. Sunday. One task performed by the Field Park Company was to assemble a small mobile electric generating plant which used to light a number of tents in one section of the camp. Many other engineering jobs were performed. Mechanical plant was employed also in the construction of a dug-out, the tunnellers making use of pneumatic tools driven by a portable air compressor.
