GREYHOUND RACING

FINAL TRIAL SERIES By “King Kong.” The final series of greyhound trials prior to the opening track meeting next week was held by the Gisborne Greyhound Racing Club on Thursday evening. The only hurdle event was won by the improving Mollybourne, while Sunny Lass finished in second place. Lucky Strike was the winning dog in tire first trial on the fiat and, judging by the form he has shown of late, he will figure prominently in the season’s racing. Flash Terms, the secondplaced dog, showed promise, but the dog most likely to improve is Bonny Paul, which finished third after being checked three times during the run. Golden Gift made a good solo run and the dog should improve with more racing. The next trial provided a win for a promising unnamed Paphian dog, while Chequers was second and Silver Cadet, who has not lost any j of his pace, showed up in third place. The next run was won by Sunny Lass, who, with the only other starter, an unnamed Cordial King pup, will improve. In the only other race of the evening Mollybourne was first and Dawn-o’-day second, both dogs showing speed in the straights.
