SHEEP VALUES FIRM

MATAWHERO SALE SMALL YARDING Values for store and ifat, sheep at to-day’s Matawhero stock sale were unchanged from last week’s rates. There was a small yarding of stock, and on account of the Cattle Fair yesterday the usual quota of ifat cattle did not come forward for the sale. Fat Sheep For a small entry of fat sheep values were maintained. The yarding was of average quality. Shorn ewes ranged from 14s tid to 15s lid. The individual pen prices were:— Shorn Ewes—Eighteen, at 15s lid; 17, 15s .Id; 7, Southdown, 14s 8d; 23, 14s 7d; 5,15 s 7d; 32. 15s Id; 12, 15s; 12, 14s Gd; 4 wooliy ewes, 21s; 2 heavy woolly wethers, 235. Store Sheep The offering of store sheep was small and values were firm. Wethers made to 17s Id for those with good frame and forward, other good pens to Ids 2d, with fairly good from 13s to 14s Ud. Ewes with iambs met with a good demand, woolly going to 30s 5d and shorn to 25s tid. Store ewes also sold well, good forward ones reaching from 11s lOd to 13s 2d. Good 2-tooth ewes made 23s (id, and shorn Southdown 2-toollis in fresh condition 14s !)d and 14s lOd. prices:— Wethers.—One hundred and fortylive 2-tooths, fairly good size, good store condition, (p) 13s lid; 50, good frame, forward condition, 17s Id; 472, 2-tooths, fairly good frame, good store condition, (p) 14s (id; 1(17, tops off last lot, 18s 2d; (ill, 2-tooths, medium size and condition, 13s 2d; 30, small, medium condition, 12s 4d; 13, woolly, 2 and 4-tooth, in good order, 21s. Woolly Ewes and Lambs. —Twentyone good conditioned ewes, and 27 good lambs, some late, 28s; 5 ewes with good teeth and condition, and 7 average lambs, 80s 2d; 8 good ewes and 8 heavy lambs, 30s sd. Store Ewes.—Thirty-six, good store condition, 9s 7d; 8, forward, 12s; 11. woolly, 'in good order, 13s lOd; 12, good forward, 11s lOd; 7, nearly fat, 13s 2d; 12, 4-tooth to 5-year, full of condition, 18s Gd.

Two-tooth Ewes. — Eleven, good average size, with condition, (p) 19s; 2 woolly ewe hoggets, in good order, 23s fid: 8, big and fat, early shorn, 23s fid.

Shorn Ewes and Lambs. — Six medium ewes, and fi good lambs, 24s sd; .12 good condition ewes and 13 big lambs, 25s fid. Southdown Two-tooths. — Twentynine, shorn, good size, with condition, 14s 9d; 9, shorn, fresh condition, 14s lOd.
