EASIER TREND CATTLE FAIR VALUES Yesterday's IM-atawhero Cattle Fair, which opened with half-hearted competition, improved considerably 'as the sale progressed. Although several lines were equal in value to the prices o,braining at the last fair, the general trend of the sale was easier. The offering of store cattle totalled 2,455. and tiie sale attracted 'fair competition from Hawke's Bay and Waikato 'buyers. There were practically no entries in the bullock Class, two small lots, of not very attractive quality, making £7 15s and £8 ss. Three-year steers made from £0 (is .to £7 7s; two-year steers, £4 5s to £5 ss. Yearling steers in two instances reached £4, the highest values toeing £4 2s, tout most of this class were of medium qualify, making from £2 upwards. Cows with calves were unattractive generally, values ranging from-£2 10s to £4 17s. Grown heifers reached £4 <lss and £5 ss. Of the two-year htvfers yarded, good pens made from £4 to £5, with average sorts elbout 42s to £3 lifts. Yearling heifers realised from £3 to £3 13s for a few. otherwise £1 18s to £2 18s. 1
