SICK AND WOUNDED SOCIAL ORGANISATION (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The executive of the joint council of the Order of St. John and the Red Cross discussed the question of launching an appeal specifically on behalf of the sick and wounded ,but action was deferred in the meantime. All centres are to be instructed to support sympathetically and in every practical way the appeals of the National Patriotic Fund Board and provincial councils.

The question of affording aid to prisoners was discussed and it is proposed to issue full instructions as to the conditions governing contact with these and the sending of comforts.
