PRESIDENT ENLISTS

YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUBS WELLINGTON COUNCIL At a meeting of the Wellington district council of the New Zealand Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs held in Palmerston North, Mr. W. G. Brownlie, Wairoa, stated that the Dominion president, Mr. E. W. Barnett, who was also the Wellington district president, had been called up for service, and was going to Hobsonville. It was agreed to abandon the proposed centennial camp to have been held in Wellington, only 118 members having offered to attend, while 800 were required. It was agreed to ask, however, whether reduced fares could be secured for groups of young farmers visiting Wellington. The meeting decided to arrange an athletic championship meeting in Palmerston North in March for clubs in the Wellington council’s district.
