—Corrugated Iron Short
One of the essential building materials which are running short in New Zealand is corrugated iron. It is related that one person who wanted a small quantity was asked to fill in a form specifying exactly for what purpose it .was needed, and to state the urgency of his case. He ascertained that there was none available for the walls of buildings, or sheds, or for fences, as stocks already in the country were required for roofs only. About four-fifths of the buildings in New Zealand are roofed with corrugated iron, which has a limited life.
