SCHOOL FLOWER SHOW
TE HAPARA SUCCESS COLOURFUL SCENE The flower show of Te Hapara School pupils, held this week, was an outstanding success. One of the large school rooms was used for the show and it presented a colourful and beautiful scene when the numerous exhibits were set out in their respective classes. The judging was carried out by Mrs. Mclntyre and Mrs. Crone, who congratulated the pupils on the quality of the display and offered them some helpful advice for their future guidance in the artistic arrangement of flowers. The awards were: Champion Bloom, Sweet Peas (21 entries). Sybil Chapman. Six Blooms, Sweet Peas (16 entries).—David Poswillo and Rex Hickman, equal 1; Ken Walters, 3. Glenys Poswillo, 4. Best arranged vase of Sweet Peas and Foliage (13 entries).—David Poswillo, 1; Lester Traue, 2; Judith Jones, 3. Best arranged vase of Spring Flowers (29 entries). —Rere Patiki, 1: Colin Booth, 2; Fay Bury. 3. Best arranged bowl of Spring Flowers (15 entries). —Hine Taunoa, 1: Tiria Halbert, 2; Jill Smith and Pauline Bousfield, equal, 3. Buttonhole (95 entries). —Marie O'Meara. 1; Lester Traue, 2; Audrev Hughes. 3. Posv (20 entries). Valerie Prosser. 1; Glenys Poswillo, 2; Audrev Hopds. 3. Decorated vase of Native leaves, flowers, or berries (7 entries).—Jill Smith, 1: Joy Cuff, 2; Tiria Halbert, 3. Most original decorated vas" (18 entries). —Glenys Poswillo, 1: Jill Smith, 2; Jean Gribb'.e and Alleyn Arnott., equal. 3. Pupils gainin'* most, points in the display were Jill Smith. Glcnvs Poswillo, and David Poswillo, all equal.
