GARDEN PARTY
WAIROA QUEEN CARNIVAL
(Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day
Plans have been completed for the garden party which is to be held on Saturday in Conoration Square, under the auspices of the four Wairoa queen carnival candidates.
The grounds will be open to the public at 1 p.m., and at 1.30 p.m. a small procession, in which each of the candidates will participate, will leave North Clyde, headed by the Municipal Band. Upon its arrival at Coronation Square, the candidates will be introduced to those present and the garden party declared open by Mi\ A. T. Carroll.
At 2.30 p.m. the judging of the children’s decorated bicycle tricycle, and perambulator competition will take place, whilst the judging of the baby show is timed for 3 p.m. A tugo’war competition is to take place at 2.30 p.m., and it appears that there will be at least six competing teams. This event will be n straight standing pull, and will be judged by Mr. A. T. Carroll.
