SCOUT NOTES

CHRISTMAS CAMP YEAR’S FINAL PARADES By “Soouter” The past tw)o weeks have been iflairly busy for Scouts in Poverty Bay, and there lias been a good deal of work done in preparing the camping ground. i Scouts in town will hold their final parades in the same week as the schools break up. Mangapapa Troop will hold its breakup night on Wednesday, December 13, and the Sea Seoul's and Y.M.C.A. will break-up on the Friday, December 15. Practically all arrangements have been made for the Christmas camp, when it is expected that 435 Scouts will be under canvas. Troop’s who will be represented are Wairoa, Nuhaka, Tolaga Bay, Ruatoria, Lone Scouts, Sea Scouts, Mangapapa; and YJMjC.A., and District Rovers. The camp fee has been made fairly reasonable in the hope of getting outside assistance in the form of contributions of vegetables, fruits, jam or other foodstuffs. The camp will open on Boxing Day, ancl conclude on January 9. Transport is being arranged for the boys and gear to and from the camp.

On Saturday the Mangapapa cub pack will hold its final meeting, which will be in the form of a tea. Cubs are requested to bring edibles, and a cup. All Cubs are asked to be at the

scout hall by 4.15 p.m. The Y.M.C.A. Cubs arc also to meet on Saturday at 9,15 at the Y.M.C.A. to join in a big outing planned for that day by “Taw's.” As this will probably be the last notes to appear in this paper until the new year. “Soouter” takes this opportunity of wishing all scout note readers a very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year. A reminder is also given to Scouts attending Christmas camp, that camp fees are no*w due, and may be paid to their gcoultmiasters on the parade nigh't, YM.C.A. on December 9 and 15, and Mangapapa on December 13.
