The High Commissioner for New Zealand, Mr. W. J. Jordan, and Mrs. Jordan, were present last month at the dinner party given at Buckingham Palace to the delegates from the Dominions and India who attended the Empire War Conference. Mrs. Jordan sat next to the King. Negotiations have been completed by the Poverty Bay provincial executive of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union for the leasing of a cottage at Wainui Beach for 12 months. The project has been undertaken for the purpose of affording country women a holiday at the seaside, and particulars in regard to booking and rental are available at the office of the provincial secretary, Miss J. Renner, Adams Chambers, Gladstone road.
