TWO FIRES IN ONE DAY

Following the outb’reak of fire In the Royal Hotel, Rangitikei street, Palmerston North, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, a second fire was •discovered in the evening. It was not as extensive as the first and was almost extinguished by a member of the staff before the arrival of the fire brigade. Both fires occurred on the first floor of the building in unoccupied bedrooms. The outbreak of Tuesday night was discovered by Mr. jH. Hughes, a bed being alight and the I flames just spreading to a wall.
