YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUBS JUDGING COMPETITION Arrangements for a combined field day for the young farmers’ clubs of die district were made by the Poverty Bay district executive of the movement at a meeting held last night, Mr. J. L. Munnro being in the chair. In anticipation of large entries for the dog trials, it was agreed that these should !go on ail day, commencing at 10.30 a,m„ and that during the day a judging competition should be held on beef cattle, baconer pigs, fat lambs, dairy cattle and Romney cheeo, the judges appointed for the respective sections being Messrs. G. V. Smith, H. A. Hopkins, F. Hair, N. Burrows, and E. R. Black.

A post mortem examination on a diseased cow, conducted by Mr. R. E. Alexander, . Government ' veterinary officer at Gisborne, and a thatching demonstration were arranged in addition.
