RATES FOR GISBORNE
The individual prices for Gisborne clips valued at the first appraisal, which was concluded on November 25, have been received in Gisborne, and while no rates have been announced from official sources it is understood that at least in one case of a large clip worth more than £ISOO the prices are quite satisfactory on the 12]d basis, being in the main above tl)e average,
It was stated by the chairman of the Gisborne Woolbrokers’ Association to-day that the prices were received in Gisborne only this morning, and that immediate arrangements were being made to advise growers of their realisations.
Wool from the first appraisement is being prepared for early shipment, and the stores are particularly busy resewing and dumping the hales ready for export. Samplers already have been round taking a 101 b sample of each type in the catalogue. These samples will be shipped Home in the same vessel as the wool, which will be taken over by the trade in England on values based on ihe samples. Three samplers were engaged in the work in Gisborne. This system was not followed in the last commandeer.
