TWO TANKERS SUNK
VICTIMS OF MINES BRITISH NAVAL GAINS ORecd. Dec. 4, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 3. The tanker Realf was mined off the British coast. An Italian steamer saved 44 of the crew, transferred them to lifeboats and landed them at an east coast port. The oil tanker, San Calisto, struck two mines and 'blew up on the southeast coast. Two members of the crew were killed. The noise of the explosion was heard ashore. A lifeboat put out and aided by a minesweeper, picked up the remaining 27, of whom seven were seriously injured. The British navy captured the German steamer Eifbek, and also the 25-ton trawler Sophie Busse. The liner Watussi was scuttled by its crew south of Cape Point.
