SALVAGE ABANDONED
WAIKOUAITI’S CARGO VESSEL UP FOR SALE (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. The salvaging of the cargo of the Waikouaiti was abandoned at 3..'10 o'clock on Saturday after the men had been wearing lifejackets for hall an hour. A st#ong south-westerly was blowing, but there was no sign of the ship breaking. The vessel has settled lower, however, and is now offered for sale by the underwriters.
