DOMESTIC DISPUTE

SUCCESS OF CONCILIATOR

The value of the recently-enacted Domestic Proceedings Act was shown in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court a few days ago when the conciliator in a domestic dispute, Mr. M. McCormack, announced that he had been successful in bringing the parties concerned together again. The case came before Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., on the day on which the Act came into force. Proceedings were taken by the wife against her husband for his alleged failure to pay maintenance. Mr. Paterson appointed Mr. McCormack, district maintenance officer, to act os conciliator between the parties.
