Mr. E. P. Meachen, member of Parliament for Wairau, is visiting Wairoa. —Special. Mr. F. Tolerton was appointed by the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association to-day to represent it on the District Primary Industry Council. Mr. F. R. Miller, M,B„ Ch. 33., of Invercargill, has'been appointed to the post of house physician and ophthalmic house surgeon at the Warneford Hospital, England, Mr. Frank Wright, L.A.8., R.AJM., R.C.M., at present director of music for the London County Council and formerly conductor of the famous St Hilda’s Band, of England, has accepted the post of adjudicator at the centennial brass bands contests to be held in Wellington in February. The Rev. G. R. Barnett, of Christchurch, has been appointed vicar of St. Luke’s, Queen’s Park, Brighton. Since 1934 he has been vicar of Ifield, Sussex. In 1927, Mr. Barnett was appointed the first Dean of Hamilton in the newly-created dfocese of Waikato. He returned to England in 1932.

Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P., will leave Gisborne early next week to attend a silting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence, of which he is a member. Later, he will visit Trentham and Burnham camps, in company with other members of the committee. During December an opportunity will be taken of inspecting the other main camps, and seeing the work proceeding at those points.
