A small yarding of spring lambs resulted in a keen sale, values improving on the average by 2s Gd to 3s Gd a head. The best quality made Old per lb. The fat sheep entry was about 4500. Good ewes were better than a week ago by about 2s a head, and the best wethers by Is a head. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 35s 7d, prime heavy 31s Gd to 345. prime medium 27s to 31s, light to 21s: extra prime heavy owes 27s lOd, prime heavy 24s to 265, prime medium 21s to 23s Gd, light to 15s. The entry of fat cattle was 414. compared with recent pennings of more than 500. The market was irregular. Medium-weight cattle improved by 10s a head, but for heavier bodies there was no improvement. Extra prime heavy steers made to £24 7s Gd. prime heavy £l7 to £lO 10s, prime medium £ls to £l6 10s. light to £10; extra prime heifers to £lO 7s Gd. prime £ll 5s to £l3 ss, medium £9 to £ll, light to £3 15s: extra prime cows to £l3 17s Gd, prime £lO to £ll 10s, medium £3 5s to £9 15s, light to £B. There was n heavy entry of porkers and an average decline m values of 3s Gd a head. Choppers came forward in heavy supply and prices were easier by about 15s a head. Baconcrs were penned in medium numbers, but there was no change in values. Choppers made from £2 3s fid to £4 18s fid. and porkers £1 14s fid to £2 19s G:i. The average price was Gfd to 7kl per lb. Baconcrs made from £2 18s fid to £4 lfis Gd, the average price being fit,d to CJd per lb.
