AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS EFFECT OF THE WAR (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Following discussions between the Australian Board of Control and the New Zealand Cricket Council, and after considering the difficulties arising from Ihe war, it has been jointly decided that the proposed New Zealand tour by the Australian team be abandoned for the time being. A statement issued by the management 1 committee says it is naturally with great regret that the committee found itself forced by the existing circumstances to this decision.
