The Great. War was the cause ox (he coining of several new Words. some of whifch have since become firmly established in the everyday vocabulary. The present war, although as yet young, is likely to foi- f low suit. "Punch" already has coined an excellent’ word for the pamphlets dropped from planes—“bomplilets." this being Mr. A. P. Herbert’s invention in his “Mein Pamph." A word Which has apparently come to stay is "Vackies,” a much easier word to use than “evacuees."
