"Not a Political Move"
A denial that the Hamilton Shop Assistants’ Association was an organisation set up by employers, as asserted by the Workers' Emergency Committee, was* made by Messrs. A, N. Kirk and D. S. George, president and- secretary, respectively, of the association. They said the association had been formed by the shop assistants themselves for the purpose of cooperating with the eniDlo.vers, fellow employees and the Government, with a view to minimising unemployment and to enable .employees to come to an understanding with the Shop Assistants’ Union. The formation of the association was not a political move.
