EMERGENCY PLANS

COAST ORGANISATION TOKOMARU BAY AREA COMMITTEES FORMED (Special to the Herald.) TOKOMARU, BAY. this day. Details of the personnel of various divisions in the emergency precautions scheme for the Tokomaru Bay district have been arranged. The executive committee comprises the county chairman, Mr. D. W. W. Williams, and subcontrollers of the various area divisions. The headquarters of the executive committee is the Waiapu County Council’s office, and the point of assembly for all divisions and for the public is the public school in Tokomaru Bay.

The various Tokomaru Bay divisions have been constituted as follows:

Supplies.—Sub-controller, Mr. Wm Oates; deputy-controller, Mr. R. V, Gully; committee, Messrs. T. Edge, J. Busby, A. Morgan, P. Pewhairangi, J J. Roberts, and F. Porter.

Transport.—Sub-controller, Mr. A N. Wilkins; deputy-controller, Mr. J B. Stafford; committee, Messrs. R. W, Chaplin, G. Chaffey, J. Riddell, C Ryland, and H. H. Fairlie.

Medical and Public Health.—Medical officer of health, per district health inspector; deputy-controller, Mr. H. D. Gardner; committee, Mesdames R. G. Sherwood Hale and R. V. Gully, Miss Armstrong, Messrs. W. L. S. Brittain, W. K. Ryland, and F. R. Jefferd. Law, Order, Fire and Accommoda-tion.—-Controller, the police; deputycontroller, Mr. H. H. Fairlie; commutes, Messrs. J. Benson, G. Chalmers, E. Hankey, J. Oates, G. Pepper, J. J. Roberts, H. S. Short, F. Thompson, and C. Ryland. Harbour.—Sub-controller, harbour master, Captain S. J. Plummer; deputy-controller, Captain P. McCallum; committee, Mr. F. Porter, freezing works staff, president of the Waterside Workers’ Union and Harbour Board staff.

Communications.—The postmaster and staff.

Works, —The whole county; sub-con-troller, Mr. A. K, Gilmour; deputycontroller, Mr. O. N. Winter; committee. Messrs. F. R. Jefferd. C. McCracken. K. Mackay, F. Thompson, H. L. Salisbury, W. S. Thompson, J. Ormundsen and representatives of the labour unions.

Finance. —The whole county: controller, county chairman, Mr. I). W. W. Williams; deputy-controller, Mr. G. Glen: committee, Messrs. F. It. Jefferd, K. Roslcruge, J. Busby. I. S. C. Dalgains, M. G. Thompson, and Hy. Williams.
