HIGHER BUS REVENUE

ADDITION TO FLEET A slight increase in the municipal bus revenue during the fortnight ended November 19, compared with the corresponding period last year, was reported to the Gisborne Borough Council last night by the bus manager, Mr. K. G. Ball.

The report stated that the average earnings per mile during the past fortnight were 1'3.37d over a running of (1615 miles, 30,472 passengers being carried, while a year ago the revenue averaged 13.25 c! per mile over a distance of 6306 miles, 30,665 passengers being carried. It was stated also that satisfactory progress had been made with the preparation of the new hospital bus. and delivery was expected from the body-builders within a few days, when it would be ready for painting and the installation of seating.
