EFFORTS IN INDUSTRY INCREASED PRODUCTION MAXIMUM POSSIBLE FARM AND FACTORY (Per Prese Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. An appeal to all engaged in indu try to give of their best so as to increase the country’s national'production, primary and secondary, to the fullest possible extent, was made by the Minister of Supply, the Hon. D. C. Sullivan, in a broadcast address las. night.
Mr. Sullivan said that the effectiveness of New Zealand's war effort anc. the continuance of its present prosperity could be achieved only if the flow of goods and services within the Dominion was the greatest possible. This meant that every farm and every factory must be worked with . the greatest efficiency and that every service of whatever kind must be effectively performed.
Mr. Sullivan said that however important was the necessity for maintaining and even increasing production during peace time to retain the present high level of prosperity, the effort for which he was calling now was of far greater necessity. It had been said many times by leading statesmen in the Mother Country since the outbreak of war that victory of the Allies would depend to an increasing extent on the success with which the Empire maintained its economic security and developed its productive resources; ~
