IMPORT PROBLEM
TERMS OF PAYMENT REACTION OF SELLERS (Par Press Association I WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. A. O. Heany, the secretary of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, stated yesterday that the third period of the import procedure represented a conscientious attempt by the Reserve Bank to facilitate the machinery to conduct import business under the licenses issued.
It also marked further* progress in the work of the bank to even out the difficulties of completing the financing of imports. What still remained as a matter entirely beyond the wishes of the Government or the power of the Reserve Bank was the willingness of overseas vendors to do business on the terms laid down by the Government and its administrative departments, particularly under the war conditions. There was not in any way a relaxation, nor could such be expected while the present system continued.
