NUHAKA NEWS

SHOW PREPARATIONS (Horald CoiTi'spnmlnnt.) The Nuliaka A. and P. Society's committee met on the showgrounds on Saturday afternoon, those present being Messrs B. Richardson, president, F. H. Young, vice-president, P. J. Brewster, secretary, E. A. Bullmorc, R. Gilmore, A. T. Glenny, D. A. Hughes, H. R. Hickling, R. Mclntyre, J. Pomana, M. E'. Shaw, 11. Schwass, K. Stewart. G. Shaw, G. B. Steele and J. Small.

The president moved a motion of condolence with the relatives of the lale Mr. G. Ormond. The society, said Mr. Richardson, much regretted the passing of one of its foundation members, who was also a president in the early days and a life member.

The lender of Mr. E. B. Short!. Morere. for the refreshment booth was accepted. Permission was asked by the Nuhaka Sports Club to hold its annual fixture on Boxing Day in view of the fact that the showground would not be available after the Show. It was decided to grant the request. A hearty vole of thanks was accorded Mr. J. Pomana, who presented another silver cup to replace the one which was won outright at the last Show.

Mrs. W. I. Phin and her son Peter are spending a holiday in Hawera.Mrs. G. Simpson, Wairoa, spent the week-end at Nuhaka as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Small. —'Master Pat. Begley, who has been a patient in the Wairoa Hospital, has returned home. Mr. P. J. Brewster, jun.. who haenlisted with the military forces, has received instructions to proceed to Trcn'lhnm early in December. Intermittent rain is holding up shearing and hay-making.
