N.Z. DOG FILM STAR
DEATH OF BOY FIFTH After a career in which he won a total of £025 in stake money in his 117 placings, and after having had the distinction of taking a major role in a talking picture, Boy Fifth, a noted sheepdog owned by Mr. W. Whyte, ol Napier, died recently on a Kereru sheep farm. lie was 12 years old. The winner of 04 trial cups, many of which he eventually won outright Boy Fifth gained 117 placings, 57 being firsts, including 10 gold medals. The dog was introduced to a wider i audience a year or two ago when he ■ was starred in an interesting and unusual talking picture “Four Smart : Dogs” a Grantland Rice sportlight ! filmed in New Zealand.
