HELP FOR RECRUITS RETURNED MEN’S ADVICE CIRCULARS TO BE PRINTED (Special to tlio Herald.) WAIROA, this day. A decision to the effect that circulars would be printed and handed to every man going up for his medical examination for the military forces, offering him the advice and assistance of Ihc association and Ihc benefit of the returned soldiers’ combined experience. was reached at a meeting of the Wairoa Returned Soldiers’ Association.
It was felt that in this way the returned men could he of direct and useful assistance to the men of the present war as there were many ways in which such advice and assistance could prove invaluable.
It was deemed advisable that the age limit for service in the forces toe not strictly adhered to as there were men old at 40 and others young at 50, and it was agreed that headquarters be advised to this effect.
The desirability of making adequate reserves from canteen profits for men returning from service was stressed, and it was decided to refer the question to headquarters.
The suggestion that the soldiers’ cemetery plots under the jurisdiction of the branches of the Returned Soldiers' Association should be made available for serving soldiers was heartily approved. It was decided to advise headquarters that instructors were available in this district to fill any vacancies that might occur, and who were willing to make their services available.
