TIKIWHATA NEWS
EUCHRE TOURNAMENT (Herald Correspondent.) A very successful euchre tournament inaugurated by the Tikiwhata Women’s Institute, was held last Friday night. The prize-winners were Mesdames J. Davin and Nicholson, and Messrs. W. Johnson, and Ron Andrews. A dainty savoury supper was served by members of the institute. Engagement I’arty A jolly party was held on Saturday evening at the residence of Mrs. 11. Crack, to celebrate the engagement of Miss Dorothy Devery and Mr. J. O'Brien.
Mrs. Crack received her guests wearing a charming frock of black satin beaute, while Miss Devery wore navy figured silk. Songs and community singing were enjoyed.

Mrs. J. Smith, who has been in hospital in Gisborne, has returned to Tikiwhata. —Mrs, B. Sullivan has returned from a.visit to relatives in New Plymouth.—Miss Josie Moody is a patient in the Cook Hospital.
