ORDERS NOT PLACED
SHIPS FOR BRITAIN CANADIAN YARDS (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 2.40 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 21. Replying in the House of Commons to a question regarding the reported ordering of 30 ships at a total cost of over £7,000.000 from Canadian shipyards, the Minister of Shipping, Sir John Gilmour, said that while the whole question was receiving urgent attention, no orders had yet been placed and that no foundation for the above figures existed.
