HOMEBUSH DISPUTE UNION DEREGISTERED MATTER FOR CABINET (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. 23. 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 22. Householders in the metropolitan area are facing a serious meat shortage as a result of a strike at the Homebush abattoirs, where all work ceased to-dav.

The dispute began last week with the mutton slaughtermen who are demanding that a casual employee be ‘reinstated to his former position. The Industrial Commission intervened yesterday and formally deregistered the Meat Employees' Union, whose members to-day called a general strike in all departments of the abattoirs.

The'matter is being considered by the Cabinet.
