SENTENCED TO DEATH
LONDON, Oct. 16. Sentence of death was, passed at Bedfordshire Assizes yesterday on 19-year-old Eric Ronald Wilshire, of Ickleford (Hitchin), found guilty of the murder of Harry Cooper at Pirton on August 18. The jury strongly recommended him to mercy. It was alleged that he shot Cooper after Cooper had attacked him as he was watching a fight between his two brothers.
