LIBERALS RETURNED
GREATLY REDUCED NEW BRUNSWICK POLLS DEFEAT OF MINISTERS (Reed. Nov. 22, 9 a.m.) OTTAWA, Nov. 21. Messages from St. John State that the New Brunswick elections resulted in the Liberals being returned though in greatly-reduced strength. The Liberals won 27 seats and the Conservatives 21. The issues were local ones. The election of 1935 resulted in the return of 43 Liberals and 5 Conservatives. Ministers defeated in the 1939 elections are Mr. J. B. McNair, who was the Attorney-General, Mr. A. P. Paterson, Minister of Education, and Mr. E. ,T. Hemsebcrrv, President of the Executive Council.
