EMPIRE AIR FORCE
INVINCIBLE IN YEAR OUTLAY OF £60,000,000 (Rqcd. Nov. 22, 9 a.m.) OTTAWA, Nov. 20. The New Zealand and Australian delegates to the Empire air training conference may not leave before the week-end. The Australian Minister of Air, Mr. J. V. Fairbairn, hopes to make a brief visit to Washington. • The Australian Associated Press understands that it will require three years to reach the maximum output of 25,000 pilots. However, in the first year the Empire will have an invincible air force. The initial outlay will be reduced to £60,000,000, but the efficiency of the programme will not be disturbed. It is merely a question of reducing Canadian administration costs. Canada has agreed to utilise civil and military aerodromes and organisations.
