NAZI CREW OBJECTS
BID TO SfeUTTLE SHIP CAPTAIN RESISTED (Reed. Nov. 17, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 16. Further accounts dealing with the capture by a British cruiser of the German steamer Leander, which was masquerading as a Russian vessel, stated that when the captain, after disabling the Leanders engines, tried to. scuttle the ship, the crew beat hihj up and refused to open the seacocks, saying they did not want to loge their personal belongings. A sailor knocked down the captain, whom the sailor held struggling "on the deck. When sighted by the cruiser, the Leander was drifting Without fuel in a heavy sea.
