Dates when the appraisement of j wool is to begin in various North | Island centres were announced by the \ Minister of Marketing, the Hon. W. Nash, on behalf of the Minister of i Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, in a broadcast address last evening, j Mr. Nash said that the appraise- j merits would start in Auckland to-day. j Arrangements had been made to begin | the appraisement in Gisborne on November 24 and in Napier and Wei- I lington cm November 28. Brokers in | other centres would be notified in r. few days of the dates when appraisals j would begin in those places. Mr. Nash said that there was ship-] ping available to life 19.500 bales of wool from Auckland by December 2.1 It had been hoped, and particularly! in view of statements that had been ! made that wool was becoming .con-! gesied in Auckland brokers' stores, j that this quantity would have been j available for immediate appraisement; to-day. Such, unfortunately, was not the "case. It was arranged that! immediate delivery to stores would j be made of properly sorted fleece wools so that the full 19.500 bales; would be brokers were | urged to do their utmost to see thai i this was done. The appraisers would be retained in Auckland during next week so that all wool coming forward might be imme- j diately dealt with.
