Queensland in the first innings made 290 runs (Brown 87. Allen 76, Rogers 45, Baker 32. Cheetham took four wickets for 75 runs, O'Reilly three for 27 and Pepper two for 86). New South Wales in the first innings lost five wickets for 66 runs (Solomon 39). Both McCabe and Finglelon failed to score. At Adelaide, Victoria in the first innings made 207 runs (G. Tamblyn 67. I. Johnson 33, Barnett 51). Cotton took three wickets for 37 runs, Grimrnett three for 69, Ward two for 10, Waite two for 48. South Australia in the first innings made 142 for six wickets (Bradman 76 and Klose 47).
